Why Your Winter Event Needs LOCK5

The pressure on winter events has never been higher.

Guests arrive with expectations shaped by the best experience they've ever had. Sponsors want environments that justify their investment. Councils need public events that their communities remember and return to. Corporate clients want Christmas hospitality that their guests are still talking about in February.

Getting it right takes more than a marquee and a lining. It takes a partner who understands every element of the brief, from the first design conversation to the final guest departure, and has the expertise, the team and the track record to deliver it.

That's LOCK5.

Twenty years of winter

We've been delivering winter event spaces for over two decades. The Honourable Artillery Company in Central London, where we install ~2,400m² of Nightsky lining, ~1,125m² of black roof lining and ~624 lin/m of walling every season, transforming one of London's most historic venues into one of its most spectacular temporary event spaces. Winter wonderlands and ice rinks for councils and venue operators across the UK. Large-scale Christmas party venues for some of the country's most demanding event agencies. Immersive dining experiences that redefine what a Christmas evening can feel like.

In a single year, LOCK5 installed 65,000m² of lining, manufactured 35,000m² in-house and laundered 95,000m². That's more than the footprint of Heathrow's Terminal 5. The scale to deliver whatever winter brings, and the expertise to make every square metre count.

What we deliver

Design

Great winter events start long before the structure goes up. Our Head of Design and Experience, Lulu Beasley, works with clients from the very earliest stage of a brief, using AI-powered visualisation, CAD drawings and 3D renders to show exactly what a space will feel like before a single pole is installed.

The question we always start with isn't what should it look like. It's what do we want guests to feel when they walk in. Temperature. Flow. Atmosphere. The ceiling above them. Whether there's somewhere to settle into after dinner that isn't a banqueting chair at a six-foot round. Those details are the brief, and the earlier we engage with them, the better the result.

Fit Out

Our heartland. The full interior build of any temporary or semi-permanent winter event structure, delivered on time, on budget and to the standard our clients expect.

Our Nightsky lining, deep midnight blue with integrated LED starlight effect, is our most sought-after winter finish. It transforms any temporary structure into somewhere that feels genuinely spectacular from the moment guests arrive. Available as stock lining for fast, cost-effective installation, or in bespoke sizing and custom colourways for events that need something entirely their own.

Alongside Nightsky we offer black, white and acoustic linings, bespoke CNC-manufactured fabric solutions, hard walling and room partitioning, bespoke decking and raised flooring, scenic painting, prop making, lighting installation and the full range of structural fit-out services. Everything that makes a winter event space work, and look extraordinary.

Experiences: Dining in Plain Sight

For clients who want more than a beautifully dressed space, something that is the event in itself, Dining in Plain Sight is our signature winter experience.

Set within a striking glass-sided marquee, Dining in Plain Sight dissolves the boundary between indoors and out. In winter, that means candlelit tables framed by dark skies and frost. The glow of fire through glass. The scent of woodsmoke and seasonal ingredients over an open flame. A crackling fire outside where guests gather between courses under the stars.

Available for up to 80 guests, it can function as a standalone private event or as a premium hospitality option within a larger winter programme. It offers a four-course seasonal menu rooted in the principles of local, organic and wild, elevated with the drama of open-fire cooking under the winter sky.

It is, quite simply, one of the most memorable things you can offer your guests this Christmas.

Who we work with

We work with councils, venue operators, major attractions, event production agencies, marquee hire companies and private clients. Our long-standing partnerships with Mar-Key, Neptunus, GL Events, Arena and Fews mean we integrate seamlessly into the supply chains of the UK's leading temporary structure businesses, delivering the interior fit-out and lining solutions that complete their builds to the highest standard.

If you are responsible for a winter event programme, whether that's a public ice rink, a Christmas market, a large-scale winter wonderland or a corporate Christmas party, we understand your brief from every angle.

The winter events that win

The events that stand out this winter will be the ones where the environment was considered from the very beginning. Where the design conversation happened in August, not October. Where the brief went beyond how many people can we fit in and asked instead what do we want them to feel.

Those events are the ones people return to. The ice rink that becomes a community landmark. The Christmas party that sets the benchmark for everything that follows. The hospitality suite where the sponsor renewed without a difficult conversation because the environment spoke for itself.

LOCK5 delivers all of it. Design, fit-out and experience under one roof, one partner, one conversation, full accountability from first sketch to final guest.

The most important thing we can tell you

Start now.

The best winter events are already being planned. The clients whose ice rinks sell out in November, whose Christmas markets become the highlight of the local calendar, whose hospitality guests leave already asking about next year, none of them left it until October.

We're taking winter 2026 and 2027 enquiries now.

Tell us what you're planning. We'll show you what's possible.
